Christmas crafting with oilcloth fabrics

So December is nearly upon us! It doesn’t seem two minutes ago that we were blogging about Halloween. How time flies when you’re having fun!

We really hope that you enjoyed our latest blog all about making your table look festive with our Christmas oilcloth range. In this blog, we wanted to show you that our oilcloth fabrics are not just for the table, you can use them for all sorts of crafty things this Yuletide. We hope we provide you with some inspiration as to how else you can use your festive oilcloth fabrics. We have had a little nosey around the internet and have found some great ideas. So here we go!

Christmas bunting fabricsFirst of all, let’s talk about good old Christmas decorations. From the days of making cotton wool snowmen at school, I think we all have a soft spot for handmade at Christmas. So, what can we make with oilcloth fabrics? How about some festive oilcloth bunting  for a start? Just pick your favourite Christmas fabrics, take a look at this great video on YouTube and hopefully you’ll be good to go!! Why not try interspersing some of our more simple patterns with those that are a little busier for a really lovely festive look. You can view our full range of Christmas oilcloths here.

So what else can we do with oilcloth fabrics this Christmas?

We’re heading toward December now at a rapid rate and festive food is of course high on theChristmas oillcoth fabrics agenda. We’ve already got your tablecloth sorted so let’s make that table even more Christmassy with some wipe clean place mats and coasters? Go for a different fabric to your tablecloth to make your mats really stand out. If you’ve gone for a plain tablecloth then go for more of a traditional pattern for your mats and vice versa. Martha Stewart has some great articles on her website to show you how to make both place mats and coasters.

As well as keeping your table clean with your oilcloth fabrics, keep yourself clean too with a seasonal oilcloth apron. Again, there’s a great article on how to make one of these over on the Martha Stewart website. You could even make a matching set for yourself and your partner or for your little ones. How cute?!

We would absolutely love to see your efforts at Christmas crafting so please post any of your work on our Facebook page. Happy Christmas crafting and enjoy December!
