Celebrating the iconic British beach hut!

Iconic, colourful huts have adorned our beachfronts since the mid-18th century. Back then, bathing in salty water, the refreshing sea air, and lounging on the sand were considered the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of busy city life!

With limited days off work, a trip to the nearest coastal town was a real treat. And a beach hut provided a little luxury and somewhere to shelter if the weather turned or to provide much-needed shade from the scorching midday sun.

Now, nearly 300 years later, beach huts are still a popular choice for family and friends looking for a  private base to enjoy an extended day at the seaside and to come and go as they please.

Moving with the times, many huts are now fitted with mains electricity, a small, fitted kitchen and a dining area where you can comfortably appreciate your fish and chips, or relax and experience the sunset at the end of a memorable day.

Being situated on the stunning Fylde coast in northwest England, we love seeing the rows of huts being enjoyed year after year! They really are the perfect way to enjoy the great British coastline.
